The Brewer’s Table

As with any time I head down to East Austin for my monthly cut at SHED, I always plan on visiting some place new. Whether it’s a cafe, restaurant, or food park-I make the most of my trip from North Austin.

Not too long ago, I paid a visit to the Brewer’s Table, a wonderful craft brewery/restaurant concept that combines delectable farm to table dining with 24 craft beer taps. The space is located in a refurbished 1950s era quonset hut and features a spacious outdoor beer garden and patio for outdoor dining as well.

I arrived towards the beginning of their day and took a seat at the bar.

The restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing and while I enjoyed sitting at the bar, I didn’t keep my back turned the whole time because the space is beautiful

Once settled, I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich complete with sweet and spicy peppers, a fried egg, on a soft and delicious mesquite buttered roll. The chicken cutlet was tender, juicy, and breaded to perfection. Give the sandwich a little squeeze, watch the egg run some, and dip parts of your sandwich on the yolk and you’ve got yourself a fantastic lunch. My sandwich came with perfectly salted chips and coupled with my beer, it was a perfect combination.

I would love to come back here with a group and even with the kids. The outdoor space is large with a few toys tucked away on the side for the kiddos and plenty of seating to kick back and enjoy a beer with friends. This was my first and most certainly won’t be the last. Next time, I’ll have to do dinner here…and order more beer.

Cheers!
